Samsung has now unveiled the Galaxy A73 5G as a successor to the Galaxy A72 and to everyone’s surprise, there’s no telephoto lens on it. In this post, we will be outlining everything that this device comes with, along with everything that is missing. First up, let’s talk about the camera situation.

Camera

It’s only right that we begin here. The Galaxy A73 5G comes with a quad-camera set up: 108-megapixel sensors (the first on a mid-range Galaxy), a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor (same as the Galaxy A72), a 5 MP depth sensor (replacing the telephoto lens), and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. The absence of the telephoto sensor on this device is a real letdown.

Design and Display

The Galaxy A73 5G comes in a similar design to its predecessor. It features a protruding rear camera bump with quad-camera sensors mounted on it. It measures 165 x 77.4 x 8.4 mm and weighs just over 200g. This device is a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ Infinity-O display which comes with a 120Hz display refresh rate. The display also houses a punch-hole cutout for its 32-megapixel front-facing camera.  This Galaxy device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, it comes with support for 5G, 6/8GB RAM, and 128/256GB storage variants, a micro SD card slot to increase storage up to 1TB. It also ships with Android 12 (One UI 4.1). Furthermore, the Galaxy A73 5G is IP67 water resistance rated. Finally, it features a massive 5,000mAh battery to keep you going. And it supports 25W Super-Fast Charging to get your device powered in no time.

Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G will be available in select markets from April 22, however, the price of this device is still unknown – we’ll update this when we know more. But we expect it to cost more than the Galaxy A53, which starts at around $500.
