Africell Uganda took to their social media channels yesterday to deliver this message to their customers. Hakuna Matata bundles offer a buffet of communication solutions that come with unlimited SMS and calls for Africell to Africell customers, free social media or OTT tax worries and data bundles that are cost less than any other on the market. Africell Uganda Chief Commercial Officer, Mr Neeraj Gala, said the Hakuna Matata bundles are timely because they are enabling cost-effective communication in the current times where people are financially strained....

The agreement marks the second in-country acquisition by Airtel in Africa. It had acquired Warid’s Uganda operations earlier this year. The latest acquisition will make Airtel the largest mobile operator in Congo Brazzaville with around 2.6 million customers. At present, Airtel is the second largest operator in the country with over 1.6 million customers, while Warid is the third largest with around one million customers. The agreement aims to bring together the strengths of Airtel and Warid in Congo Brazzaville and benefit customers in the form of affordable tariffs, superior 2G/ 3G network, affordable voice and data services and superior customer care....

The new rate is similar to what MTN Uganda is offering i.e. 4/+ per second or 180/= per minute. This unification of charges is very important especially in a multi-telecom industry where cross-network communication is inevitable. With this, Airtel continues to provide more value to its customers through provision of quality services at affordable prices. Competition in the telecoms sector has also helped many Ugandans enjoy quality services at reduced prices....
