Design and Display

The device comes with a 6.52-inches IPS HD+ display, with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution, and a 19.5:9 ratio. The screen is tall and will make it difficult to use one hand although Tecno compensates for that by including the one-hand mode. The phone weighs 169 grams which is very light and comes in the Dawn Blue, Dark Jade, and Sky Cyan colors. On top of the display, there’s a waterdrop notch that houses a 16MP front-facing camera with a double front-facing flash. And on the rear of the device; a 16MP Camera, 8MP Wide-angle camera and 2MP for depth sensing and micro shots. It also has a quad flash at the back. We shall do an in-depth test of the cameras in the full review. The back of the phone has a gradient finish with a fingerprint scanner which is pretty fast at unlocking the phone. On the left-hand side of the phone, there is the SIM and Micro SD card tray which houses two nano SIMs and a Micro SD card – expandable to 256GB. On the right-hand side, there is the volume rocker keys and power keys. At the bottom, there is the speaker, Micro USD port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microphone. On top of the device, there is nothing.

Camera

As earlier mentioned, the device has a triple camera set-up comprising of 16MP, 8MP, and 2MP lenses alongside a quad flash and shoots videos in [email protected] Some features of the main camera include Autofocus, Continuous shooting, Digital zoom, Geotagging, Panorama, HDR, Touch focus, Face detection, White balance settings, ISO settings, Exposure compensation, Self-timer, and Scene mode. Processor, Storage, and OS

On the inside, the device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 chip, 4GB of RAM and boasts of 64 GB of internal storage. It also has a 4000mAH battery to power the phone and runs Android 9.0 (Pie) based on HiOS v5.5. Tecno Camon 12 comes pre-installed with some system apps like Settings, Camera, Play store among others and bloatware like Fruity Folic, Vskit, among others.
