Both smartphones (Camon 15 and NOTE 7 LITE) come with similar specifications, which might make your buying decision a little tedious. So, this post talks about their similarities, what sets them apart, and the right one to buy.

Camon 15 vs NOTE 7 LITE

Display/Design

It is almost like all Transsion smartphones copy each other, as most of them (TECNO, Infinx, and itel) bear similar looks. In terms of design, the Camon 15 comes with a punch-hole front camera, the same as the NOTE 7 LITE. On the rear of both phones, there is an array of quad cameras, backed up by a camera flash. Although they both have slightly different display sizes (Camon 15: a 6.55-inch IPS LCD display, and NOTE 7 LITE: 6.66-inch HD+ Infinity-O Display), the only noticeable difference in design on both smartphones is the fingerprint sensor. For Camon 15, the fingerprint sensor is at the rear of the device, as expected. The NOTE 7 LITE, however, comes with something entirely new; a side-mounted fingerprint and face unlock. Winner: Infinix NOTE 7 LITE; it comes with a slightly larger display screen, and its side-mounted fingerprint and face unlock.

Camera

Camon 15 is equipped with Sony’s 48MP, smart chip-backed camera lens – the first of its kind on African smartphones. The camera features include Ultra Clear Shot, Ultra Night Shot, Super HDR, and AI Scene Detection, and 8x zoom. Infinix NOTE 7 LITE, on the other hand, features a quad rear-camera setup: a 48-megapixel primary, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a low-light sensor. The front camera on the Camon 15 is a 16 mega-pixel punch-hole camera, while the front camera on the NOTE 7 LITE is an 8 mega-pixel punch-hole camera. Winner: Camon 15 is by far the winner here. The Standout feature is the AI Scene Detection, which creates high-resolution photography.

Storage

Both smartphones are backed by 4GB RAM, but the Infinix NOTE 7 LITE is backed by a massive 128GB internal storage space, with MicroSD support, while Camon 15 comes with a 64GB built-in storage space. Winner: Obviously, NOTE 7 LITE is the winner here.

Battery

I think OEMs are (still) conscious of the fact that smartphone users across African countries do not have access to a constant power supply, hence the need for bigger long-lasting batteries. Both smartphones (Camon 15 and Infinix NOTE 7 LITE) are backed by a massive 5000mAh battery. Verdict: It’s a tie.

Availability and Price

Camon 15 is available for pre-order in Nigeria for N62,500 ($160). To pre-order, send “Pre-order Camon 15” to +234 903 643 8365 on WhatsApp. NOTE 7 LITE’s predecessor, Note 6, sold for $195 when it launched in 2019, and although the official price of the NOTE 7 LITE is still not known, we believe it will be sold at a slightly higher price.

Camon 15 vs NOTE 7 LITE: Key Comparison

Which Should You Buy

Well, if you are particular about photography, then Camon 15 is your best bet. If you consider internal storage a priority feature in a smartphone, then you should take advantage of the 128GB internal storage space on the NOTE 7 LITE. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is also a cool aesthetic addition. It is also worth mentioning that both devices come with the latest Android 10 operating system out-of-the-box. If you’re particular about speed and smartphone performance, you should definitely purchase the Tecno Camon 15. It features a MediaTek Helio P35 processor which is a lot faster CPU and GPU speed than the Infinix Note 7 Lite’s MediaTek Helio P22 processor. That said, the final decision you make will (and should) entirely depend on what you need in a smartphone and also, what your budget is. From the specifications, though, tell us: which would you buy? The TECNO Camon 15? Or the Infinix Note 7 Lite?
